SISTERHOOD TRANSITIONAL HOUSING PROGRAM
Black Mothers In Power is committed to supporting Black mothers and families in Delaware through every stage of their journey. Our Sisterhood Housing Transitional Program provides temporary, supportive housing for women with children who are working toward stability and independence.
What is Transitional Housing?
Transitional housing is a bridge between homelessness or unstable living conditions and long-term, stable housing. Our program offers a safe and supportive environment where mothers and children can focus on rebuilding their lives while receiving essential resources and guidance.
Who is Eligible?
We serve women with children who:
Are experiencing homelessness
Are survivors of domestic violence
Are recovering from substance use disorders
Eligibility Requirements:
Must have custody of at least one child (up to three children).
Must live or work in Delaware.
A demonstrated commitment to personal and financial growth is encouraged
Program Highlights
Residents can stay for 6–12 months, with potential extensions based on individual circumstances. Families will share living spaces and receive access to a variety of supportive services, including:
-Case management and counseling
-Job training and employment support
-Life skills workshops (e.g., budgeting, parenting)
-Mental health and substance abuse support
-Healthcare access, including Doula Services

We offer reduced rent on a sliding scale to ensure affordability while encouraging financial independence.

Ready to take the next step? Applying for Sisterhood Housing involves:
-Completing an intake assessment
-Providing identification and financial information
-Meeting with a case manager to discuss your needs and goals
Spaces are limited, and priority is given to those with the greatest need.
