Black Mothers in Power to Host Annual Gala Fundraiser and Celebrate 5th Anniversary

Wilmington, DE - Black Mothers in Power, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering and uplifting Black mothers and families in Delaware, is excited to announce their annual Gala fundraiser on Thursday, October 24, 2024, at 6.00 PM. The event will be held at the prestigious White Clay Creek Country Club located at 879 Delaware Park Blvd, Wilmington, DE 19804. We are honored to have Dr. Jamila Perritt as our keynote speaker. Dr. Perritt is a distinguished authority on Black maternal healthcare and has made significant contributions to the field.

This year's Gala is especially significant as it coincides with the 5th Anniversary of Black Mothers in Power. Over the past five years, Black Mothers in Power has made a significant impact on the community, increasing the state's capacity of Doulas by providing training and resources. We have trained over 40 Doulas, empowering them to provide crucial support to Black mothers and families throughout Delaware. Through our advocacy and support programs, we have worked tirelessly to improve maternal and infant health outcomes, address disparities in healthcare access, and uplift the voices of Black mothers in our community. We are proud of the progress we have made and look forward to continuing our work to empower and support Black mothers and families in Delaware.

Attendees can look forward to an evening filled with delicious food, refreshing drinks, recognition awards for outstanding community members, a silent auction with amazing prizes, live entertainment, and much more. It will be a night to remember as we celebrate the achievements and resilience of Black mothers in our community.

"We are excited to celebrate our 5th Anniversary with our supporters, partners, and friends at our annual Gala fundraiser," said Shané Darby, Founder and Executive Director of Black Mothers in Power. "This event is not only a fundraiser for our organization but also a celebration of the contributions and power of Black mothers and families in Delaware. We invite everyone to join us for a night of fun, inspiration, and giving back."

Tickets for the Gala are now available for purchase on the Black Mothers in Power website. Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses and organizations looking to support this important cause.
