We Have An Open Position!

Email resume to blackmothersinpower@gmail.com

Black Mothers In Power is a grassroots organization designed to acknowledge, address, and rectify the systemic inequities Black mothers and their children face in America today.

We are dedicated to creating and developing policies and regulations to acknowledge these inequities fully within our political and social climate; curriculums and training to address stigmatized beliefs regarding Black maternal health; and community programming to rectify these issues in tangible ways.

In addition to actionable steps addressing the ineptitudes that exist, we seek to understand the intersectionality of being a Black Woman by examining maternal health care of Black Women who identify, but not limited to, the following groups: Disabled, Mentally Ill, Immigrant, homelessness, HIV/AIDS, Domestic Violence Victim, LGBTQ, Incarcerated, Teen Mother, and Addiction.

Mission Statement: To raise awareness around racial health disparities for Black women and children by using grassroot organizing and programming to challenge systematic systems that infringe on their human rights

Vision: An equitable society for Black birthing persons where they have agency and autonomy over their bodies to not have children, to have children, and to parent.
