Black Mothers In Power is a grassroots organization designed to acknowledge, address, and rectify the systemic inequities Black mothers and their children face in America today.
Position: Marketing and Communications Intern
Responsibilities:
Social Media
Assist with planning, creating, and scheduling posts for platforms like Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, TikTok, and LinkedIn.
Monitor engagement and respond to comments or messages to foster community interaction.
Research trending topics, hashtags, and best practices to optimize content.
Podcast Support
Assist in researching topics and potential guests for podcast episodes.
Help with scheduling and coordinating interviews.
Edit audio recordings using tools like Audacity or Adobe Audition (training provided if needed).
Draft episode descriptions, show notes, and promotional content for social media.
Marketing and Communications
Support the execution of marketing campaigns, including email newsletters and online promotions.
Conduct research on industry trends, competitors, and potential collaborators.
Administrative Tasks
Organize and maintain content calendars for social media and podcast schedules.
Assist in managing and updating the website or blog content.
Attend weekly team meetings and contribute ideas for campaigns and content.
Skills and Qualifications
Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, Communications, Media, or a related field.
Familiarity with major social media platforms and tools (e.g., Meta Business Suite, Buffer, Hootsuite).
Basic graphic design skills (experience with Canva or similar tools preferred).
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Interest in podcast production and digital storytelling.
Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
Proactive, creative thinker with a collaborative mindset.
Preferred Skills (Not Required)
Experience with audio editing software (e.g., Audacity, GarageBand, Adobe Audition).
Familiarity with email marketing platforms like Mailchimp or Constant Contact.
Photography or videography experience for content creation.
